Yeaaaaaah!!! I did something like that, only it was the bathroom. We bought our 1st house in New Hampshire. It had a nasty PINK bathroom. I didn't want the house because of it, but DH kept telling me about all the great features it had & that we could "change" the pink. The walls were floor to ceiling pink tiles & each fixture was a different color of pink - nasty! After living in the house 3 years, I went into the bathroom after the boys were down for the night. Took the 3 lb, hammer with me. Closed the door & let one swing rip - DH came running in wanting to know what I was doing. "Changing it!" was my reply. I gutted the room and put up new drywall, flooring (1" pink tiles on floor, too), white tub & toilet, wall paper & a blue faux marble vanity after all was finished. Boy, did that feel good!

Good luck with your re-model & enjoy the spaciousness!
