I admire your guts! I couldn't believe it when I saw the pictures. I showed it to my husband and he said I need not every get a crazy idea like that. Then he noticed it was a load bearing wall and just shook his head. I live in a double wide that has a very open floor plan so I don't have any walls to knock out. Actually I'd like to put some up sometimes.

Hubby and Son did that 10 yr.s or so between 2 little rooms, Son made a closet also and now I have a bigger sewing room, not very big but bigger than I had. It would have been a bigger room without the closet but, I couldn't live without the closet. Good for you.
If it is a load bearing wall you should be okay as long as you leave most of the wall, otherwise you will need someone to put up some post to support the roof and/or upper floor and roof.
Not all walls can be removed.

If I want something done, I usually start it myself. I am rather handy with the hammer drill and saw. Good thing those tools make a lot of noise. My husband will come and be the MAN and attempt to take over. I let him think he is in charge, as long as he understands my plan. My last project he made a few suggestions and was glad for the help. His ideas improved my plan. When I tell him I want to make a change and need his help, he usually puts me off untill I start doing it myself. -- His motivation is the thought I will mess up.

Ha, ha , ha. I have done things like this so many times in my life. I'd suggest it first, he'd procrastinate, I'd talk about it some more, he'd just grunt or suddenly have to go to the bathroom. So I do it myself. Once I get started he will offer to help me and we get it down to the finishing part, then it becomes my project again. I haven't done anything serious the past couple of years but I've been known to get into some big projects! :D :D
