OK, I am confused by the question. I don't know which website or why they are considered inappropriate. Are they wearing skimpy bikinis while wielding these tools? Are these tools displayed in questionable positions? OR is it simply the fact that "girls" have tools that makes it offensive?

If the latter, then whoever has a beef needs to get off their sexist wagon. (Sorry - a Yes/No position is not possible)

I'm a girl - albeit an older girl, and when the hubs and I work on the house, I use power tools regularly. I have my favorites. LOVE the chop saw - not so keen on the nail gun.

The number of single females is large and they may not have the money to spend hiring a handyMAN for every breakage in the house. Many girls can maintain their own cars and many can do minor (or even major) repairs on the house. Lacking a penis is apparently not a detriment in home improvement.

My girlfriend got a pink set of tools when she got rid of her ex and she prides herself in doing as much as she can. I am so proud of her.

Now given that most marketing targeting woman is sort of sexy and pretty. Why would marketing of power tools be any different?
