I was recently to a quilt show where a woman had made a memorial quilt from her Grandfathers shirts. It had various panels, for example a school house, a tractor, a church - each representing a stage of his life while growing up in our rural farming community. Each panel was sashed with strips made from his shirts. I nearly wept while I read the card that was attached to the quilt. It was very touching.
