I can understand if the quilt is to go into a show but when they are made with love for family,friends or whoever why not finish them and give them to people to use?
If I have a recipient in mind for a quilt, I do finish it. If I'm making a quilt just because I want to make that particular pattern, then I usually keep the top until I'm inspired to finish it for a particular recipient. That's my excuse! :)
