I love your avatar. What is that pattern?

My avatar is a "Mexican Stars" pattern from Southwind Quilts - dimensional quilting that looks really hard but is easy as pie. The curves are actually squares folded in half, then turned back and stitched like a cathedral window. Nine blocks total, plus borders - stunning quilt - won me several prizes including sweepstakes at my county fair and at our state Quilt Festival. Cash for quilting - love it!

Here's a link to the website for the pattern:

I thought I was the only one who had issues with the half-square triangles... I have made a practice of stitching 3/16" seams whenever I have a diagonal (scant 1/4"), then I trim the block to size after I have pressed it open. I kind of wish the patterns on Quilt Blocks Galore all had measurements to square each unit before sewing them together.

Thanks again,
