I made this quilt during the summer while helping my dad to care for mom. Since she had been diagnosed with terminal cancer, I needed some bright happy things in my life to escape. One day while sitting with mom I started doodling. I can't draw, so I was doodling lines, and the quilt somehow made itself known. I already had the beautiful batiks in crayon colors, so I played with that idea. Primary colors in the horizontal lines, secondary colors in the vertical lines. And colorful flowers to mix it up!
