I really like Better Homes& Garden quilting magazine,plus they have an email newsletter available that is awesome. I also like Quilt plus Fons & Porter. I've gotten my older sister into quilting (in another state) & she has given me a lot of positive feedback about BetterHomes&Garden being the best magazine for her as a new quilter. Hope that helps!
