No I don't. I use starch, but not really heavy and my sewing machine does not have a single hole throat plate. On the rail fence I sewed 3 3/4" strips using a 1/4" allowance. Then sub cut the strip into 1 1/4" squares. The HST are done using random leftover triangles and sewing a random seam allowance from 1/8 to 1/4". Then I square up the HST to the correct size. In this case the HST are cut 1", sewn 1/2 inch to make a 1" broken dishes block.
