No string or ribbon story, but my friend had two cats, and a robo cleaner. They had never paid any attention to it in 2 yrs. She turned it on, and the 1 cat was just watching it. The robo turned its self around scared the cat so bad that it po--- the wall and the other cat. She said it wasn't fun cleaning the cat.
