If you have a nut cracking set, the tool that is used to clean the nut out of the shell is perfect for closing pins. One end is curved and the other end has one or two grooves on it. Works like a charm. I've picked these up at yard sales everytime I see them and have passed the extra ones on to my quilting freinds.
