We got married in 1967. We lived in a fourth floor walk up apartment and we had to go to a laundromat to do our laundry. He learned how to do wash back then. When we got our own home and our own washer-dryer, he did his wash and I did mine and the household wash like towels and linens.
Now he is semi-retired and I have my longarming business. He does all the wash, the outside chores like snow removal and lawn mowing, and all the grocery shopping. I take care of upkeep of the inside of the home. We share cooking.
This works well for us. We both have some energy and some time left over for each other every day.
