I haven't tried the new product that heat presses batting together, but have been heat pressing it together with strips of very light weight fusible interfacing for years. Don't apply too much heat on poly batting or it could melt. Just enough heat to hold the pieces together works. Once it's inside a project and quilted, it won't come apart. I never throw batting scraps away.
