I have done that many times with my now 13 year old, the clerks always said it is okay!!! She was 4 and 5 at the time it was a pack of gum and a broken bell from a christmas ornament.
My deal is stealing is taking something that is not yours and it is wrong.
I am 35 and pretty fair but you do not lie, cheat, or steal!
