oppppps, forgot about the coal furnace with octopus arms in the basement and heat vents for upstairs that were cut openings with grids so you wouldn't fall thru & hope your bedroom happened to be upstairs as heat rises.....remember cinders being used instead of salt on roads with snow & ice.....
