I have bought some fabric from my LQS, then when I got home, I realized that I wanted more,lol. I called her and I told her I needed 2 more yards of xxxxx, and will be there to pick it up sometime next week. She cut it and had it ready for me.
I imagine any of my LQS will hold fabric for their customers, assuming it is a reasonable amount of time.
I have done that before :-) There are a couple of stores that I know would do that for me but, in both cases, I am a regular customer who has also bought sewing machines from them.
I know my local Jo-Ann stores will hold the bolt for a few hours, but will not cut the fabric ahead of time.
