I like a swirly pattern for bargellos. I think "Swirls" by Circle Lord Designs is especially nice. A curvy pattern seems to work well with these patterns composed of straight seams. I've seen a few bargellos quilted with continuous curves and the pattern does not really show up well on a busy top.
