I know, that's what gets me. A pattern with some companies, they charge tons of money for shipping. Most patterns can be put in an envelope and sent for about $1. Something small, that doesn't weigh much is cheap to mail and I don't understand why they have to charge an arm and leg.
I can understand if some things that are bought could break in transit and need to be wrapped, but most will fit in a flat rate box for $9.80 and I don't mind paying for that. But, when they want to charge that price for a yard of fabric or a pattern, that's just way too much.
