To tie a quilt-- I start at the edge of the quilt and go down with a threaded needle (yarn, pearl cotton, or hand embroidery thread)and come up about a 1/8 over from where you went down leaving about 2 inchs of thread remain on top of the quilt. (first end to tie) Then continue with the same thread and go down about 4inches away and then come up 1/8 in away from where you went down. Then continue, all the way across the quilt.____ _____ _____ ____ The next step is to cut the threads in the middle of the long piece (4") Then you take the two pieces of thread and tie them into a knot. This method makes it easier and you don't have to sew each knot by it's self. I hope that this can be understood.
