It was 79 degrees when my daughter and I were out at lunch today. I carry a 72-hour emergency backpack plus another 3 day supply of MREs and water in my SUV. I took it in for repairs to the dealership my daughter works at today and got a loaner but I still grabbed the backpack out of my SUV and put it in the car.

The most likely thing in CA is an earthquake and if I'm on the road when it happens, it might take a long time to get home.

Just wanted to let you know I DIDN'T understand how people could live in a place without winter! - Snow - Ice - -20 wind chill factors - gloomy sun-less days! :shock: :shock: :shock:

Now I'm starting to understand - and starting to pick my area of retirement. The nasty weather the south has been having is making it difficult. :)
