I have it in the top of both feet and for awhile I coudn't even wear shoes. I took a NSAID and a diuretic (water pill) and it went away. The only time I have pain now is if I let my feet get swollen. I don't take any meds at this time, I just avoid wearing anything tight on my feet or standing/walking for too long. This probably will not help you since you are under a doctor's care but I wanted to let you know that you are not alone.
