I also use EQ6, and I would love to get the upgrade to 7 for the photo editing capabilities. I know there is another popular program, Quiltpro, but I have never used it. From what I understand it doesn't have as many features as EQ but could still be a valuable tool.

I think the only downside to those computer programs is for some users it can get complicated. If you're familiar with your computer, enough to navigate well around these boards even, I think you'll be fine. It's set up in a similar manner to any other windows program, but there are some features that take a little practice. There are so many options it can even get overwhelming! But it's a blast!

I really love EQ for a lot of reasons...it comes with a library of blocks (pieced, applique, foundation pieced) and you can draft your own. You can use it like a design wall and upload your own fabrics even to see what your quilt design will look like with fabric you already have...you can modify designs already in the library. It's unbelievable what you can do with it. If you go to electric quilts website they have a demo section you can click on and it will give you a great idea of what you're getting. I use mine quite often and think it was completely worth the money!
