I don't believe in gender coding with color... my boys have liked pink and purple on and off, finally settling firmly into blue and green as their "favorite" colors. I wonder how much of that has to do with cultural exposure? To me, it is an awful things to to do to a child, rob them of enjoyment of color based on gender stereotypes. Sighhhhh.... I must be cranky staying up so late = )

All things considered, I'd ask your daughter her opinion. Go for it if she is comfortable with it.

ETA: or maybe I'm just cranky because my oldest son constantly thinks I will like something because it is pink. And I am a girl, so pink must be my favorite color... at least that is what he is taught at school. It doesn't matter how I try to explain, he is 100% certain I love pink. I'm just lucky he cares what I like at all = )

ETAA: or maybe I'm just plain old cranky...
