I have noticed the bobbin thread doesn't alway wind right, so I guide the thread right off the spool between two fingers with a touch of pressure. Good thread works better too (old thread breaks/frays/knots quicker.

Thanks! I think the bobbin was the problem loosely wound! It didn't seem to like Gutterman thread!! We got there and she completed her project!! I have 2 machines here so we had a 'plan B' but didn't have to use it!!!!
