I don't care so much about coffee made with electric coffee makers. I want the aroma of real coffee to drift all over the house. I put my electric in the cabinet and use my good old Corning Ware one that is old but still working. Visitors coming into the house from the cold outdoors with the smell of fresh coffee greeting them is marvelous. And no, I don't use a filter. I'm sorry to say that I don't use my Grandma's way of tossing a bit of salt in it nor do I crack an egg in it and toss in the shell too. She would stir it and let it perk a couple of minutes more and then take it off the fire. The brew was dark and snarled as it gushed from the pot but with plenty of cream it was marvelous, even to younger teens. On camping trips I do and it is very welcome with a piece of heavy and moist Hunza Trail Bread.
