I'd like to jump in. I'm a complete newbie to quilting. I learned to sew as a child and sewed for many years, then didn't when I had children. I took a quilt class recently because it is the map of Texas and I had to have it. I'm still working on that one. Since then I have taken a class on Bali Star and Irish Chain (just a few days ago). The classes are about cutting and piecing and not really the quilting. I'm still learning quilting terminology and how to understand the directions in a pattern. It's fun and having someone to turn to with questions would be great.
