remember when they used to use those old tubes for sending messages to different offfices and floors?

Oh, yes, I remember them well. And we still have them in our Costco here. As a child I remember the clerk would write out the purchase on carbon papered sheets, take the money and send them both up the tube to the office, where they would check the math, put in the change needed, and send it back in its own little container. Fun to think such a thing is still used in today's computerized society.
