This is an old post, but just brought back so many memories of my mom. We lived on a farm and she baked every day - cakes, pies, cookies, even Baked Alaska once - she was so proud! It was so amazing back then because if we didn't bake it, we didn't have it. No Publix bakery in central Illinois!
