But every block is different. Suppose you were making a Churn Dash - the math on that is a bit different because the layout of the block is different (4x4).

The basic premise is you take your finished size block, break it down to your finished size components, and then add 1/2" to each of those measurements. Or do it in the reverse. That will work for squares.

Really, I've got to say though, that there are some basics that at some point you really just have to learn.
