I was thinking the easiest and quickest way to put it together would be to make a rag quilt. All the blankets are soft fleece types of fabric. If i make a rag quilt can i get away with just using the blanket pieces for the front and back and not use a middle layer? Should i do something else? Any help is appreciated :-)
My baby daughter is now 37. Many years ago (on an old Kenmore sewing machine) I took all her receiving blankets (had so many) and cut them into 9" squares and sewed them back together mixing up the different designs. I did not know a thing about quilting back then mind you. I used an old blanket for the batting and backed it with flannal fabric. I went over the blocks with a decrative stitch, which quilted it. She has the quilt to this day, but does not use it. It was made especially for her, and she treasurers it. I only used receiving (flannal) blankets. Hope this gives you an idea. Mary
