Now you know why no one wants to pay what one of your handmade quilts is worth. Those woman probably make a couple of dollars a day. That is why those quilts sell for less than we pay for our material. We had a vendor at one of our guild quilt shows several years ago that was selling tops and finished quilts from such an organization. I paid $85 for a blue and white star patterned king size quilt top. I spent another couple of hundred dollars having it long armed and gave it to my step-daughter for her 20th anniversary. It still cost me less than it would have for me to make it myself. Since my step-daughter, if she uses it, will wash it to death I think I got the best end of the deal.
