ok im adding my two cents. It looks like a magnafing glass you set the wide paart oon whatever you want a close up of. and look into the hole. maybe can be used to look at stiches. well the one i have looks kind of like it and mine is a magnafing glass. and I spelled magnafiing wrong :)
