I use the smaller (1/2", I think) plastic tubing cut about 1/4" and then cut it in one spot and put it around the bobbins to keep them from unrolling when storing them. No more threads stringing everywhere.
I've also used the tiny ponytail holders, but I like the plastic better because you can see the thread through them.
