my husband is so insistant and has been telling our daughters, never put something in the trunk and walk away. they saw you do it and know they have time before you return.
You should put it in the trunk at the previous stop. then drive to the next store and get out. Even if you have to pull in someplace to do it. Especially at Christmas shopping time. Thieves out looking then.
