That is very frustrating. We found some "kits" like that at a recent quilt show. DD found one she liked-kind of pricey for her- and was going to buy it. The lady at the booth mentioned the pattern was extra so DD put it back and walked away. Since then we have located the fabric elsewhere and she has drawn up her own pattern.

If thats how they want to sell, fine, but the kits should be marked so you know what you're getting.

To me, a kit should include both fabric and pattern. Otherwise you're buying a fabric collection.
