If you tease it out and lay it on greaseproof paper then spritz it with water, lay more paper over the top and press it with a dry iron, you get a filmy sheet of loveliness that can then be FMQd onto a fabric background. It wouldn't be washable obviously but it's fabulous for a wallhanging. The silk I used was hand dyed and I bought it in a little packet at the Festival of Quilts here in England last year.

It's so pretty in the flesh - kind of strokeable! And it's like alchemy how it goes when you wet it - like lead into gold! :-D
