I use the glass one from Perky Pet. Bought them on the net about a year ago for $15 or $16. I use talcum powder on the top. Ants will not cross that powder. I read chalk will work also.
I keep my feeders in the shade, one under an arbor and one under the patio roof.
I took the flowers out and enlarged the holes and put a larger tray
on the bottom
( one of those sm. round plastic dishes from the old microwave dinners) Use caution when screwing in on the bottom..or it will leak too.
Now the Orioles use it too.
