Wow! Never heard of this before, looks like I will love it, thanks for bringing this to our attention. I was over there looking @ everything for quite a while. I like this idea for hand-piecing portable GFG, Hex, & diamonds. Maybe for support you could cut a very thin but stiff cardstock shape same size to slip between fabrics (just a scant bit out of the way) while you're stitching.

Laquita,
I hope you are hanging in there, it's not easy stress-wise on you in this endeavour. My prayers will be for both of you.

Have you considered the fleece quilting idea with crochet to join the squares, or just crochet or blanket stitch around the edges? Just saw this recently when someone mentioned this tool. Cut fleece into squares or rectangles (larger will go fast). Use one of these tools to evenly space holes around the edges: http://www.nancysnotions.com/product/id/134583.do, http://www.skipstitch.com/products.htm.
Thread on it: http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-74953-2.htm and http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-111697-1.htm and http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-26640-1.htm. Best wishes.
