Thank you for posting the finished quilt Patrice. It's really lovely!!

I don't always free-motion either. There are so many great continuous line designs out there that are perfect for individual blocks and especially borders. I like to use either the Golden Threads Quilting Paper, which tears away pretty good, or exam room paper, which also tears away nicely...I only got to use that because it was free from a Chiropractor friend of mine LOL! I think the quilting paper is a bit pricey ($7.50 per roll at 12" wide X 20 yards long), but you can get quite a lot out of it, and it has several other applications.

I find that I get a more consistent stitch length if I'm doing free-motion than when I'm concentrating on staying on a line, but I hope to get my stitches as uniform as yours someday! :) I need to practice a lot more!
