Yep, works great. I have an 'endless' embroidery hoop, which lets you easily advance the fabric. I did a christmas runner. I made the sandwich, just used straight pins and then machine basted using my walking foot and a loooong stitch. Hoop the fabric, stitch out the first motif, open the hoop (you don't take it off the machine), slide the fabric up, close the hoop then stitch the next section. My main dining table is 17 feet long, so the runner is over 6 yards long. I did not use any stableizer (sp??)
