You could do something like a Roman Shade but have it with stabilized flannel as the fabric facing you, then you could use it as a design wall when it's down, and when you wanted to look at your fabrics, just pull the string and it would go up and be tied to something so you'd be able to look at your fabrics without holding back a curtain.
