Hi! I bought one of the black plastic tv tables from Walmart. My dh cut a piece of thin plywood(about 1/8")to fit the top of the tray, then I layered silver ironing board fabric then followed by several layers of a heavy felt-like batting that I think is actually used to make dining room table pads. Then made a fitted cover for the board. So far, its worked fine.
It's great to have, and is just the right height to fit under my sewing table. It's out of the way but at the same time easy to get to when I need it. Chris
