I'm 73 and know I am a beginning quilter. I buy fabric for both current and future projects. I also buy books because I am an avid reader, and painting supplies because I'm learning to paint and plan to do an art quilt to combine the two interests. What's the alternative? To sit idle and let life just pass by? That doesn't sound interesting to me. If you enjoy quilting, just keep on doing it.
