Visiting my daughter in Texas, in Killeen, I don't remember seeing many, if any screen doors. But did notice that the whole town seemed to be built of bricks!!
DD could have screen doors, except for her rescue dogs, who might go through them if not strengthened. But for security, they are more like a pack of wolves when someone even comes up the walk, so no one gets near there unnoticed. (Instead of a baseball bat or a whip to control them, she uses a water spray bottle!!!)
