I learned to sew on a treadle machine at age 8. Made clothes (even my prom dress) on it until I got married in 1965 at which time I treated myself to a White electric machine. I love sewing and have fond memories of sitting at the treadle. Only negative I can remember is having to tie knots at the beginning and end of sewing because it didn't have reverse.
