Treadle for me too. In fact, at age six I put a needle through my finger and, so I have been told by my sister, I did not stop treadling. Just added screaming! lol

My hand is up, I learned on my Mom's Singer treadle machine! I made doll clothes and then graduated to clothes for myself. My Mom made utility quilts and sold them. I still have a few of those quilts and her treadle now belongs to me. :D

Used to sew clothes for myself with a machine my grandma's neighbor had. Wish I still had it.

MANY years ago I learned to sew on my grama's treadle machine. I was 4 when she started letting me push the pedals and we graduated slowly from there!!

I learned on that machine, and taught my home ec teacher a few things in the late 50's! :)

Grama lived with us, and what is even sweeter in my memories, is at 92 she helped me make my first crib quilt for my first daughter.

I still have her machine and use it to this day...I would never part with it, and it is already willed to my first daughter (out of 3)!

happy quilting memories...

I taught myself to sew clothes for my kids on a treadle machine that I bought at a garage sale for $15.00. It sewed like a dream. Wish I still had it.
