depends on the pattern you try. If you start off with sewing small pieces then yes, it will be hard learning to get your seams right and your pieces cut.
However if you start with a large pattern, simple squares. Then NO, it is as easy as can be!
So long as you can sew to pieces together with a mostly straight line (you get better as you go) then it is worth trying! Most of all have fun with it.
