I used duct tape on my first longarm machine...I replaced the old leaders, which were on with duct tape also. The original was on the machine 15 years...held well. Did leave a residue that I had to scrape off,I then I attached the new leaders. They were on the machine when I sold it...no problems whatsoever...I have velcro on the new machine..it's ok, but not great.
