I've ripped out 12" of a quilt before because I wanted to change the thread, or the pattern, or the.....
It's happened enough now that I make a practise square and audition the thread and pattern before doing the main quilt. That way, I may have a pretty pot holder, but I also have the quilt done a way I like!
