Running over the pins is easy, done it quite a few times.

It's happened enough now that I make a practise square and audition the thread and pattern before doing the main quilt. That way, I may have a pretty pot holder, but I also have the quilt done a way I like!

That makes sense. I was running out of the thread I was using today so when it came time to fill a bobbin again, I put on a grey to save the lavender I was using for the borders. Of course the grey shows up too much but it's sure done now. I live so far from town that when I run out of thread, I can't do anything for awhile.

I did that on my first one, too. So far I haven't on my second, but I'm not finished yet.

I picked up a wonderful big spool of varigated thread for a quilt. I was working up my courage to do FMQ on a twin size top. Well, it took my a while and when it came time to do it, I didn't have quite enough thread. I knew I'd never be able to find it (picked it up somewhere on a shop hop) so ended up stitching the feather border and doing the spine in a solid colour. I over buy thread now because I have thread trauma. This FMQ is fraught with hidden pitfalls and I seem to find them all.

Well, at least y'all are doing FMQ. I tried it, sucked, and am back to piecing, appliqué, sashiko, and "the ditch" and straight line quilting. Bug chicken, I am.

If you can get at it between the fabric and batting, it might be easier to rip out. Bummer...been there...it's not fun!
